Vic: Greens want ecstasy supplied over the counter; Herald Sun
Ecstasy and other illegal drugs will reportedly be supplied over the counter to young
users in a radical policy framed by Senator BOB BROWN'S Greens.
The Herald Sun newspaper says the Greens manifesto backs the the official supply of
ecstasy as well as state-sanctioned heroin and marijuana sales at what it calls appropriate
venues.
Other Greens policies, revealed in the Herald Sun, include introducing laws to force
people to ride bicycles more often, eat less meat, medicare funding for sex change operations,
an open door policy on asylum seekers and capital gains tax on the most expensive family
homes.
With Senator BROWN at its helm and two other MP's already in Federal Parliament, the
party is aiming to treble its representation by installing a new senator in each state.
The paper says it's the first time the Greens have released a comprehensive set of
policies beyond their environmental campaign.
