Sox Players Eager to Swing Back Into Work

SARASOTA, Fla. Mike LaValliere will wake up this morning, drivehis kids to school and take a long-awaited detour.

For the first time in nearly eight months, the White Sox catcheris going back to work.

"I'm ready to jump off my couch right now," said LaValliere,also the Sox' player representative. "You can say I'm a little hypedup."

The owners' decision Sunday to accept the union's offer ofcoming back to work was met with unbridled enthusiasm by a team thatgave up a chance to win a World Series last year.

But there is still a little apprehension lingering.
