NSW: Steelworkers strike over outsourcing issue

More than 4,000 workers from BHP's Port Kembla steelworks have gone on strike over
management plans to outsource maintenance jobs.

Australian Workers Union Port Kembla organiser ANDREW WHILEY says the steelworkers
are not happy with progress in talks with BHP management.

He says workers voted during a stopwork meeting yesterday to strike for 24-hours, making
it the third strike in as many months.

Mr WHILEY says while workers will return for day shift today, there are plans for further
